Due to insistent LC demand (XD), I have decided to post in English. Well, for old times sake. I did miss this too...it's been quite a while since I posted in English.
I've been posting consistently all through our native tounge and not to mention in Taglish or "conio" - as said. Er, trust me, you DON'T want to use that "conio" word anymore...look it up at your own risk. You'd surely be dumbstruck by it's REAL meaning. Right group 5? XP
Before anything else...
Most of us ended up whining for our family, getting emotional and calling long distance calls saying
"Kapatiiid I mishuuu so much na! Miss mo na ba me??" (Trust me...I exaggerated that statement. No one in our group says "me" intentionally in that manner. Hehe..XD)
7:30 am was the time of departure. I sat beside Danniel, hehe...I won't explain the reason further though. Haha..it's a
LOOOONG story. Right ****?? Hihihi...just kidding! =)
During the whole trip to Baguio, Danniel and I have had nothing to say to each other. well, not really...just brief questions and statements from time to time.
Aside from that, we've only purely exchanged either loud teeth titters due to the sadistic high cool airconditioning, deep yawns of boredom or snores that say "
Hey...quit it and back off! I'm dreaming here!" (Trust me [what is this, a "trust me" overload? hehehe..], I am exaggerating this...haha, the point is just worth great exaggerating for!)
We arrived in Baguio at about 2 in the afternoon.
The view was spectacular! The mountains...the landscape...the sky...nature...all puzzle pieces of a brilliant scenery. It was not too cold when we arrived. We then went to the house we were going to stay in, at a house owned by LC's family friend.
The house was really cute! From the gate to the furniture, most were painted
PURPLE and
PINK - my favorite color combination! From the moment I laid eyes on the gate, I knew that it was going to be a fuuuunnnn stay!
F-U-N! Talk about a colorful vacation. ;)
We were told to sleep upstairs. But before we get to go up, we had to climb a narrow
spiral staircase, which was really fun! All of us had to wait for each other to climb a few steps higher so that we won't bump our heads into each others behinds. Hahaha!
We had a room of our own. Danniel was supposed to sleep at a different room but we insisted that he'd stay with us since it would be much fun if we had him there. Hehe..and hey, we were all
paranoid girls...hehe, from all his scary stories...he HAD to stay! Hehehehe!
We met Ate Shiela, Tita Elma's daughter. They're the oweners of the house we stayed in. Ate Shiela and us 5 became instant friends. Due to our closeness, various
"issues" sprouted from our friendship and believe me...it was so madly sweet. Hahahaha. Just kidding! XD
We first went to
Burnham Park, since the house was just a short walk away from Burnham. We took pictures (candid pictures! fuuun!) and just fooled around; taste-testing taho, spotting for classmate look-alikes and admiring the henna stalls along the way. We definitely planned to do so much during our 3 day stay from the moment we arrived there..and we planned to do them
ALL. XD
Later that night, we went to
SM Baguio to just chill out, break freee and relax. Since LC was craving for
Pearl Coolers while Danniel, Jean and I were craving for
Starbucks, we definitely had to go. There, Jean and I admired the awesome "egg decorations" they had hung, sharing our ultimate secrets while doing so.
For the rest of our stay in SM, we just went about gallivanting, looking for interesting things to do. Until we found our hidden haven...the one thing that would make our day complete.
QUANTUM. We actually wanted to go to
Quantum KTV first to give LC a chance to express her super hidden
KARAOKE TALENTS!!!Days before, LC sang her heart away in a small canteen in V. Luna, singing whole-heartedly ontop of her lungs. Aside from the overly
disgusting and nude-full videos in the Karaoke machine that we were forced to watch for the first minutes or so, it was all good, listening to LC sing
Laklak and without hesitance with full emotion.
Well, since we decided to take a break and have fun first, we decided to go play games first instead. We played a couple of games back then, there were 2 most memorable games for me though.
The first one was Jessa's attempt to make a record on the
drum-playing game. At first everything was cool, people were digging Jessa's rhythm. But when it was time for that annoying yellow line that meant,
"Hit as hard, as long and as constantly as you can...", everyone behind us started to walk away.
Haha...just kidding! But believe me, I truly hail Jessa for her drum skills...
wait...or was it the kid named Samantha?? Hahaha...joke lang! Hehe...but really, Jessa really rocked with the drums! Congrats! =)
The second was the
car race. Jessa and I competed against each other. We dashed through the whole course without even bothering to break during a turn or halt for a second.
Ahihi...surprisingly and uncharacteristically, I won. Er...I guess hours of playing Darren's
Need for Speed did pay off. Thanks Jessa! It was a good game! XD
When our inner children started to wear off, we then rushed to
Quantum KTV where LC was already paying for her 6-song Karaoke bill.
We went inside the room and took pictures, fooled around and sang our hearts away.
Haha...LC admitted to have chosen 6 songs for each of us but we hesitated to sing and gave the limelight solely to her. Haha..her encore was awesome, especially when she sang
Laklak! The emotion was so intense!
LC, You rock!!! .lmlIt was then time for us to go home. But then everything faltered when I suddenly felt quesy. I looked at Jessa and said,
"Jessa...dalawa ka na!" Then I started panting helplessly for air. I do wish to apologize to my groupmates since I made them panick. It must've been the ventilation in that cramped karaoke room that made me feel so.
When we went home, I was touched since everyone was helping me feel okay, yet want to apologize since I was such a big
abala to them. We should've went to Session Road that night but since I was a very sick man, they decided to stay with me.
Awww..thanks so much Jessa, Jean, Danniel, Tita Carole and everyone else! I'm sorry for being a burden too! The following day, we went about looking for Igorots and people to interview for our IP.
First stop was
PMA. We arrived there in time for the parade and the grad practice (although we were not sure whether that was for a graduation ceremony..)
The 6 of us left early and decided to look for people to interview. We encountered an obnoxious, pathetic and inconsiderate lady who
stole our FX ride and believe me...she was one heck of a swiper.
Ang bad ko...pero, agawan ka ba naman ng fx habang papasok ka na?!? Tapos nagpapanggap pang kasama xa samin?? Tapos bigla na lang kami itutulak tulak at aagawan ng fx??? Argh!
We then went back to
Burnham. We went around the park looking for Igorots to interview. In the
Igorot Park, an uncharacteristic boxing match was held. We decided to rest and watch it for a while. While watching, we bought ice cream...the one dessert we yearned to eat since the day before.
Since we had nothing to do and since we still were greatly troubled due to our IP, we decided to ask
Manong Ice Cream whether he knew anything about our investigated rock. Lo and behold, he did and told us to proceed to the curbs of the park and look for the snake healers...those who sold snake oil, parts and items of the sort as medicinal alternatives.
Excited and with high-hopes, we ran about the curbs searching for the snake healers. After hearing endless screams of
"Sweat Corn po kayooo!", "
Istrawberries!",
"Tahooooo!" and dozens more of whistling and whining
(sampahan kayo ni jean rose eh! haha!)...we finally found the place.
The
snake healers were performing a demonstration of their lotion-like product that allegedly cured rayuma and body pains. From lotions, to oils, to fangs and snake skins...they had it all...but had none of which was a stone medium.
With low hopes, we decided to walk away...until we realized the most amazing thing that we apparently missed out the whole time while we were searching with
only our naked eyes. The lotion they were selling smelled a whole lot like our rock a.k.a petrified wood.
At a logical angle, it was not unlikely that it did not come from the same source, since both came from
TREES. Our rock's a
petrified wood, and the lotion was a
product of the tree. After finding out from which tree the lotion came from, we decided to research about the tree and find out it's medical applications and benefits.
Before we researched about the tree, we luckily passed by a
female Igorot who was selling various goods. Lo and behold, she had just the item that urged us to go to Baguio in the first place - she was selling OUR investigated rock.
She was kind enough to explain the process they performed back in the
Mountain Province to us and was even kinder enough to allow us to shoot a video of her whole statement. She even gave us extra rocks after we bought some of hers and overpayed her willingly, as an apparent token of our kindness in overpaying the said fee.
Man was I delighted! She spoke
Ilocano, and since I could speak my provincial tounge too, I was delighted to hear every single and precise detail in Ilocano. Haha..wala lang.
Thanks so much to Manang! Without you, we couldn't have found a way to make our project as credible as it is. Hail, hail Manang! =)
After going around Burnham Park looking for more people to interview, we decided that the interview with Manang was enough for the moment, since we were to interview more people later on.
We ate at Mcdonals and met the
KINDEST PERSON ON EARTH. (Yes, I am SUPER sarcastic about this!!! Ang bad ko talaga, pero it really was disappointing...all of us, including the adults felt the same... ='( )
Ate E****! Imagine this...
You have a really great day, bonded with friends all day and have achieved numerous tasks. You go to Mcdonalds thinking that it would be a big break from all the stress and walking you've done for the whole day. You think that it'd be a great time to chill, relax and get that good Burger Mcdo reward for the job well done. But then as you order, everything goes boogsh as the lady who takes your orders jams the machine, takes all your orders wrong and leaves you hanging, goes to the next counter, takes other people's order without even finishing yours. And after 3o minutes of endless waiting, she goes back and says with beautiful eyes (that obviously and sarcastically meant "How lousy...") "Ay, andito pa sila!"Talk about a total piss off! She left us hanging, messed with out orders and now sounds as if it was our fault?!?
Anyway, leaving that aside before my eyes pop from their sockets and my ears puff red smoking gas in fury. We went on with our day and went out from Mcdonald's hurriedly.
Ate Shiela, Danniel and I went outside to wait for the 3 others. Haha...the moment the 3 others arrived, we had soooo much to tell since we had
kilig moments before they arrived. No, not us 3, but Danniel
only. Hehe...peace!
There were 2 girls and 1 gay guy beside us minutes before and it was obvious that all 3 off them (yes, even the gay guy) liked Danniel and kept looking at him, infact waved to him too. Ate Shiela and I were just soooo shocked and we laughed constantly about the event.
Danniel talaga...heartthrob and girl...er...guy...magnet! Hehehe...joke lang Danniel! Peace tayo!! XD
We went to
Bon Chick to buy the accessories were about to sell (check 'em out...
http://group5.multiply.com...XD), went to the the computer shop where we researched, chatted, blogged, opened our Friendster accounts and even slept in exhaustion, went to the
Cathedral to rejuvenate our spiritual needs and finally went home, exhausted yet very happy. Haha.
After dinner, Jean, LC, Danniel and Ate Shiela decided to play
1,2,3 pass while Jessa opted to stay with me.
(Aww..labshoo Etamae!!!) We talked about dozens of things, things that we least expected to talk about. She told me secrets and I told her private stuff too.
Group 5 was really getting close by the moment, and I am so thankful because I found more friends like them whom I have greatly wished for. Haha..how mushy of me. XD
After that we finally went to
Session Road, bought pasalubongs and accessories and then went home, freezing by the moment as we walked in the cold and empty streets of Baguio.
We slept at about 12 or 1 after we fought greatly about our positions in bed (...if that's how you call it. Haha...) and when it was all settled we dozed away and slept out of exhaustion.
The following day, our last day in Baguio, we went to the
market and shopped for Strawberries, Jams, Peanut Brittle, Lenguas and other pasalubongs to give to people back in Manila. Right there and then I verified that I am a certified
Agoraphobic. Yes, I am afraid of large crowds especially in market places.
We waited in
Jollibee where we finally went emotional since it would take a long time before we get to see Ate Shiela again. We were going to miss her since we've also been close to her back then. We hugged and kissed each other before we went back home.
At last, it was the time of our
departure - our last stay and adventure in Baguio. We said our goodbyes again, took our pictures, kissed our kisses and hugged our hugs. It was a great stay, we enjoyed every bit of it.
We left from Baguio at about
6 pm. We had the same sitting arrangements. I still sat beside Danniel and at last, we weren't that awkward anymore - we improved from our quiet selves and actually told each other stories; even enjoying Beegees (wondering if they were even dead and if they were brothers..XD), and watching each other dance...actually one of us
(*wink!*) dance. Hihi...XD
While going down the mountains of Baguio, he even pointed to me the
Pink Sun. Hehehe..and I'm quite thankful that he did so because I wouldn't bear miss that kind of scenery...it was perfect...the scenery I've always wanted and wished to see. (Look at my wishlist...finally! XD)
Thanks Danniel! XDAt night, after drearily watching
Hollow Man for the second time in 3 days, we all slept.
I should thank Danniel for lending me his jacket, although I was hesitant at first. Hehe...he must've noticed that I really was freezing
(Haha..although I told him I wasn't. Ambad kooo! Peace Danniel! Hehe...XD) while I was sleeping and put it there. I don't really know since I actually woke up with the jacket on my arms...anyway...thank you so much Danniel! I'm not really sure but I think you were freezing back then...wah...you should've kept your jacket if you felt cold too, but anyway...
thank you talaga!!! =)
We arrived at about 10 pm...it was a fast trip. Ate in Mcdonald's and went to LC's house for the overnight. Hehe..
Thank you Tita Carole for welcoming us warmly and for helping us organize tha Baguio trip.
Thank you soooo much group 5 for everything!!! As in sooobrang everything talaga! Haha..alam nyo naman kung ano-ano yun diba? Anyway...I love you group 5! The best kayo! Haha...God Bless! XD...that was our baguio trip...and you've just witnessed another of my long nobelas. Woohoo! XD
...silly me. XD
